Shetland filly foal (’Dill’) diagnosed with narcolepsy, seen at few days of age. Worst case ‘drowsiness’ timed at 12 mins. Mare’s milk stripped and foal bottle fed in early days to feed foal. Foal soon feeds itself. No further occurrences of narcolepsy by 4th or 5th day. Bouncing and energetic Shetland foal thereafter. Just like its half sister and brother. (All born during a long ten days)

Hey guys, I did not read all of the postings but what I think this guy is trying to say is that narcoleptics carry a gene that is only triggered by an enviromental factor. TO this day they do not know what triggers this gene to act up. Just go to any credible site on narcolepsy and it will explain to you the medical facts about this. There are A LOT OF PEOPLE who are carriers of this gene but they NEVER develop narcolepsy. Medical FACT, “it’s triggered environmentally.” By what, we do not know?

something mutates the gene to create the
genetic defect. I am telling you something

Did you miss the fact that pharmaceuticals
are being found all over the United States
in everybody’s drinking water that came out
in the news on Sunday? That is one factor
that can cause genetic defects
but thats the whole point! what you are saying is incorrect, rates of narcolepsy in domestic animals are not rising. find one study that says otherwise. the only increased incidences would be due to increased numbers of those animals alive. you are spreading dangerous misinformation created somewhere in yours or someone else’s demented mind, and I personally can’t see that without becoming angered. you need to start doing REAL research if you want to come to real conclusions.
