Sleep seizures? Sleep myoclonia? Sleep twitches? Sleep apnea? Sleep epilepsy? Narcolepsy?…
Hi. I´m uploading this video in an attempt to find someone with the same problem. I have a sleep disorder. I have these sleep twitches/myoclonia all throughout the night in my sleep. They keep me from having deep, restfull sleep. I only get stage 2 sleep. I wake up exhausted every day for years now. I´ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea, narcolepsy, possible sleep epilepsy and depression. No PLMD. Each sleep study has shown a different result, I´m not even sure if I have sleep apnea or not. I get the jerks even when I use my CPAP. I´d appreaciate it if any patient or Doctor who´s had/treated this same problem or similar would contact me. My e-mail address is sjhon_fabio@hotmail.com. hi, i have pretty much the same problems as you except i dont think my face twitches quite so much, but the rest of me does. i had an eeg which was neg. now my dr says im having non epiltic seizures in my sleep due to stress, im due to have yet another sleep study to confirm this. i to feel so tired all the timeand like you have done for years. thanks for posting your vid im glad im not alone. all the best
No, I never sleep normally. I wake up many times a night due to the seizure activity. The seizure medication helps me sleep a little better as it normalizes things somewhat, but not completely. I need to have an add on medication. The twitching in itself can be a seizure all together. One or two eeg’s could tell you nothing, you sometimes need multiple EEG;s to find out things. I had 6 normal EEG’s before I started having abnormal ones.
Thanks for replying. So sorry to hear that,.. but do you get to actually live a normal life? I mean do you sleep well? I live so tired I´m already depressed. I hink they wont prescribe any prolonged EEG test. My sleep deprived EEG and brain MRI were negative. I had 2 uncles with epilepsy though. So, sleep twitches can actually be another symptom of night time seizures (epilepsy) hah? Does your medication for epilepsy make you sleep any better?
I have sleep myoclonus and seizures in my sleep due to possible Epilepsy. Have you had a sleep study done? Or a prolonged EEG study? If it occurs nightly you might wanna look into an Epilepsy Center to get it checked out with your brain waves. I have myoclonic seizures, grand mal seizures, and coplex partial seizures that occur out of sleep, but I also twitch throughout the whole night.
